2014 Chevrolet Corvette pictures

Anticipation for the next-generation 2014 Chevrolet Corvette has been running high. After all, the new 2014 model will be lighter, faster, and more efficient on top of having a better build quality than the current sports car. We recently spotted testers at GM’s proving grounds, but now a gang of prototypes have been caught on a mountain getaway, and our spy photographers got a look inside. Along with our comprehensive gallery of new 2014 Corvette spy photos, we’re also featuring next-generation Corvette renderings that preview what the new car may look like underneath all that camo.

The Corvette’s interior has been its weakest spot, but the new C7 could change all that. A new dash, seats, door trims, and a major upgrade in the quality of the materials are reportedly in the books for the new Vette, and a covered-up dash in the photos suggests GM is hiding some upgrades there.  While the dash wears camouflage, we got a clear view of new fixed-back bucket seats that look similar to Recaros.

Outside, the already familiar center-mounted quad tailpipe tips remain along with the four circular taillights. Up front, though, camouflage could be hiding full LED headlights or a more dramatic take on the new C6′s HID headlights. Expect a resculpted and more aggressive front fascia and grille, and improved aerodynamics to help fuel economy. A aluminum spaceframe could also help achieve that, along with a small-block V-8 engine downsized to 5.5-liters. Two new transmissions, a seven-speed manual and eight-speed automatic, may also make it in the new C7.
